About Pathology

Our pathology laboratory carries out the tests your doctor orders, from routine blood counts and sugar tests to liver, kidney and thyroid function, and the pathologist checks and signs the results.

Some tests need you to fast beforehand. Ask the front desk when booking, and bring your doctor’s prescription with you.

Questions patients ask

Do I need to fast before a blood test?

Some tests, such as fasting blood sugar and cholesterol, need 8 to 12 hours without food; water is allowed. Ask the front desk which tests need fasting.

Do I need a prescription for a test?

It is best to bring your doctor's prescription, so the right tests are done and the results go back to your doctor.

Who checks my test results?

The results are checked and signed by a qualified pathologist before they are given to you and your doctor.
