Questions patients ask
Is the Widal test enough to diagnose typhoid?
Not on its own. The Widal test can be misleading; a blood culture taken early in the illness is more reliable. Your doctor decides which tests are needed.
How can typhoid be prevented?
Drink boiled or purified water, wash hands before eating and after using the toilet, avoid raw or uncovered street food, and ask your doctor about the typhoid vaccine.
