Doctors who treat knee pain

Questions patients ask

Does knee pain always need surgery?

No. Most knee pain settles with medicines, physiotherapy, exercises and weight control. Surgery such as knee replacement is considered only when arthritis is advanced and daily life is limited despite other treatment.

Which exercises help knee pain?

Gentle exercises that strengthen the thigh muscles, such as straight-leg raises, help support the knee. A physiotherapist can show you exercises suited to your knee and how often to do them.
